The business was originally started in the early 1980s by a couple, Diane and Gary, who had a passion for flowers and wanted to share their love of floral design with others. At first, the business was run out of the couple's home, but as demand for their services grew, they opened up a storefront in North Bergen. They quickly became known for their beautiful and unique floral arrangements, as well as their excellent customer service.

Over 15 years ago, Ara Lafi purchased Flowers of the Field and became the new owner, continuing the tradition of providing exceptional floral arrangements and excellent customer service. Today, Ara still operates the business, and it has expanded to offer a wider range of products and services, including fresh flowers, plants, home decor items, and even gourmet gift baskets. Despite its growth and success, Flowers of the Field remains a family-owned and operated business with deep roots in the North Bergen community. The florist has served countless customers for all kinds of events and occasions, from weddings and funerals to corporate events and everyday flower delivery.
